Have you experienced having had a commercial construction in California? Take for instance a restaurant remodeling, kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling, among others.

Our house just underwent a total makeover the previous week. It had so many interesting sidelights I now wish to share with you.

Mom asked dad to have our restaurant remodeled. She wanted the kitchen flooring and the kitchen sink to be furnished with tiles. She also wants the bathroom repainted and guess what, she basically wanted our restaurant overhauled! Gosh! I only prayed that dad could accomplish all that.

Mommy smiled at him. She realized dad was not looking for a way out but giving her a better option. Accompanying her smile was the favorable answer, “Ok sweetie, you can call the best general contractors in California. I repeat, you must call only the best.”

Dad looked at me as if telling me to do what mom just ordered. With that non-verbal cue, dad and I were able to communicate in a Bluetooth-like manner. Amazing!

I grabbed the directory and looked for the ‘restaurant remodeling’ category. Eureka! I found the list of the contractors in town. But mom had a golden rule -- ‘only the best contractors’. Whew! I hope it’s easy as ‘ABC’!

Mom is always like that -- a perfectionist. She always wants the best, the finest and the greatest. I cannot blame her for that kind of attitude. Wanting the best is not bad as long as it is achievable, realistic and reasonable.

While turning the directory pages, I suddenly stumbled upon a remodeling contractor with the tagline, “Quality and excellence are what we are made of!”

“Gee, looks like I have found mom’s match!” I said with a wide grin. I quickly dialed the number and waited for someone to answer. The receptionist with the sweetest voice greeted me, “Good day, what can I do for you?”

So, I told her that our restaurant has to undergo remodeling. I also mentioned our need for excellent services so she let out a soft chuckle before replying, “Quality and excellence are what we are made of!”

“I believe I’ve just read that,” I thought to myself.
